Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 5, 2026

Ember uses a deliberately small set of first-party cookies and browser local-storage items, in line with the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Essential storage

  • Anonymous session id — stored in your browser's local storage so your reflection draft and generated CV stay with you across reloads and survive until you sign in.
  • Authentication tokens — set by our authentication provider when you sign in via magic link, so you stay signed in across visits.
  • Free-tier fingerprint — a short, anonymous browser signal we use only to enforce the two-free-CV allowance and prevent abuse.

These items are strictly necessary to deliver the service and do not require consent.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics to understand which pages are visited and where users drop off. We do not profile individuals across sites.

Payments

When you buy credits or a subscription, Stripe may set cookies on its checkout page for fraud prevention. Those cookies are governed by Stripe's own policy.

Change your choice

You can clear cookies and local storage at any time from your browser settings. Doing so will sign you out and reset any in-progress reflection draft.
